4. Acknowledgements

It’s been a great cycling season, thank you for supporting our women-only rides ~ with your ride leadership and/or participation! We’ve had about 33 women participate in our various rides, but we couldn’t have done it without the guidance of the following who provided ride leadership: Cristina Inglis, Candace Anderson, Jane Hammingh,  Celia McInnis, Emily Graves, Margaret King, and Athena Quitevis. Thank you, ladies!

To everyone, we hope to see you at our remaining summer/fall outdoor rides, and winter indoor OBC women-only rides!

Saturday Gravel Ride

New Route!

As popular as the Almonte Petit Roubaix route is, it's nice to have some variety! This route traverses the same general area, using many popular gravel roads the region has to offer, but connects them up in a different way!

The ride is a “no drop”, enjoy the scenery, touring ride.  We’ll divide into groups based on speed. We’ll make frequent stops to regroup, as we expect that riders will navigate different sections of road at different speeds. Note this ride is for B/C touring level riders. A-Level riders are welcome, if they ride at a relaxed pace. D-Level riders should try a few road rides to get a sense of their abilities before attempting a gravel ride.

WTT Recap

Recap of the Women’s Time Trials (WTT) 2021 series

Thank you for participating in our exciting #tuesdates!  Despite covid-19 restrictions, we held seven events that were attended by 32 women and youth altogether, with some participating steadily each week. We are happy to note that despite the differences in skill levels, cycling experiences, and ages, you found our event accessible, interesting, and fun. We hope that you will continue to help us sustain the momentum we have achieved in the last couple of years, as we tried to revitalize the OBC women’s time trials program.

Of course, we would not have been able to do all these, were it not for the support of our dedicated WTT volunteers, leading up to, and during the series. To Jim Glover,  Mick Kennish, Nic Dery, Michel Somogyi, Celia McInnis, Prapti Jensen, and Sara Kelly, my sincerest gratitude and appreciation.

See you all next year!
