We're pleased to be able to bring back a bit of time trialing this year, starting Thursday, July 23. The course (Sir George Étienne Cartier parkway from the Aviation Museum) and the challenge remain the same, but like everything else, there are changes.
1) Online registration, limit of 30 riders. No on-site registration. OBC members only.
After July 23rd, the link to register will be in the club calendar
Registration closes Wednesday at 11:59 FIRM.
Any problems with registration - email email@example.com
2) Discouraging gathering before and after the TT. We'll email you your start time on Thursday morning - you're encouraged to show up at the start line for your given start time, ride hard and keep your distance. If you do gather pre/post ride, keep your physical distance!
3) Pre registered new riders are welcome - Mark Manners and I will be in the Aviation Museum parking lot around 5:30 on Thursday evening to answer questions (from behind a mask).
4) For those of you who've done an OBC TT - we're going to have to have a standing start - no holder. The "watch" starts at 6:00pm (using time of day from a cellphone is pretty accurate and consistent).
The continued success of our TT series is really in our hands this year - we've put a series of measures in place to make this happen (through guidance from the Ontario Cycling Association). I hope (and expect) that we can show that a TT is a safe activity during this pandemic.
Hoping to see 30 people out on Thursday!
Peter Tregunno and Mark Manners
