Vermont Inn to Inn (Aug 7 to 13) 2017 - registration closed
This year`s Vermont Inn to Inn takes place Monday August 7th to Sunday August 13th. We have made arrangements with two inns: the first three nights will be in Norwich, Vermont and then the last three in North Woodstock, New Hampshire.
Norwich is just across the Connecticut River from Hanover NH (home of Dartmouth College) and about 10k north of White River Junction where Interstate 89 meets Interstate 91. It`s a straightforward 5 hour drive from Ottawa, and the Inn (www.norwichinn.com) is very comfortable. There is a plethora of riding opportunities in the area ranging from gentle valley routes to more ambitious mountain tours.
The area east of Hanover is somewhat new for the OBC and looks very promising. There are some good mountain biking routes and gravel road challenges. As well Dartmouth and environs offer interesting sightseeing, shopping, coffee shops etc.
North Woodstock is north and east of Norwich just off Interstate 93, about 5½ hours from Ottawa. There are several interesting bike routes of about 90km between the two towns.
In North Woodstock we'll stay at the Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery (www.woodstockinnnh.com). The Inn has several buildings; we've reserved the river house, which has 11 rooms, all with private bathrooms. Unfortunately the inn does not offer a MAP (ie. dinners are not included). We will be able to eat together at the inn but will have to pay separately.
North Woodstock is at the southern end of Franconia Notch in the White Mountains. There is a good choice of bike routes including some challenging mountain passes and the easy paved bike path over Franconia Notch itself. Nearby Loon Mountain offers great mountain biking opportunities.
The tour will be limited to 22 people. The price per person is $890 CAN based on 2 people per room. (Please note that this does not include the three dinners during our stay in North Woodstock. Estimate $25-$30 CAN per person per meal.)
