Annual Good Friday Time Trial - March 21st

Please practice extreme caution if you are riding the TT. There is not always a clear shoulder and there may be icy patches requiring you to ride on the road. This should be a fun TT not one to show off fitness and speed. Please be careful.

Aviation Museum - Registration Opens at 10:00am (and closes at 10:30am)

Volunteers Needed and Welcome

2008 marks the earliest Good Friday since 1913 - March 21st. The annual Friday morning time trial will start as usual at 11am sharp with registration open at 10:00am. Don't forget that registration will close at 10:30 (SHARP!) so the organizers will have time to prepare the start lists and get everything ready for the start.

Note that this is a shorter registration period (half hour instead of full hour) because of the early date and what will most likely be a very cold and uncomfortable situation for volunteers.

Most members are familiar with this event, as it is a long-standing tradition of the OBC and typically kicks off the cycling year with one of the largest turnouts of the season. So far as I know, the event has never been cancelled, even under the most miserable weather conditions.

Note that all the participation rules for the Open Time Trial Series apply just as strictly to the Good Friday event. That means you must wear a helmet and belong to the OBC or another Ontario Cycling Association-affiliated club to be allowed to ride. This restriction is mandated by our insurance policy and there can be no exceptions to the rule. We will have a current member list at the registration, but, to be safe, you should bring your membership card to prove that you are a member for 2008.
