OBC Race Team Meeting - March 20th
It is almost that time of year again!!!
The snow is melting, the weather is getting warmer and racing season is almost upon us. I am sure many of us have already been out on the roads testing our legs and seeing how well that winter training paid off. So before the racing starts, let's have a quick get together.
When: Saturday March 20, 2010 at 9:00am
Where: OBC Club Office
Purpose: Establish e-mail lists for each team, meet other riders from your category, plan some group training, plan some great racing, and of course to talk racing, training and strategy.
While the full Ontario and Quebec schedules are not posted yet, April racing is almost here, and there is a full Ontario schedule planned. Just to get us started:
Good Friday (April 2nd) sports two events: (1) the OBC Good Friday TT; and (2) the Good Friday Road Race in Hamilton.
April 11th will see the emergence of a new race, the "Clarence-Rockland Classic" presented by Ride with Rendall.
April 18th witnesses the return of the Cyclelogik Calabogie Classic.
And April 25th is currently slated as the Ottawa Valley Paris-Roubaix weekend.
Quick Reminder: If you are going to be getting a UCI licence or an OCA Citizen's Permit, you should get your applications in early so that you have it in time for the first OCA race you plan to participate in. In order to decide which type of licence is right for you, please consult the Ontario Cycling Association's website.
Please note:
To race for the OBC you MUST be an OBC member. If you have not bought a 2010 membership, Rosemarie will be on hand to sign you up.
Also, when participating in racing events as a member of the OBC race team you are expected (and for some events required) to wear an OBC jersey. The old jersey is still permitted at some OCA events, but the new style is in and looks great - so please consider picking up the new kit.
