Insurance Details |
As we have all learned, insurance has become a big part of organizing cycling events and members need to understand that they will not be able to participate in club events unless they can demonstrate that they are members in good standing at the time of the event.
Insurance requirements have for several years forced the OBC to adopt the following participation rules for the club's Time Trial Series. OBC members can ride for free as usual. However, there is no trial period for non-members. Before you can ride an time trial, you must provide proof that you are EITHER: Unfortunately, because Quebec does not use the same insurance policy as the OCA, this means that members of Quebec-affiliated clubs will have to join an Ontario club if they wish to participate. Naturally, we hope that club will be the OBC. Holders of an OCA insurance certificate who choose NOT to join the OBC must pay a $30 fee to participate. As in recent years, there is no per/ride option. This decision was made to reduce the administrative work that organizers have to perform at each event. |

Fees |
OBC Members Free! Non-OBC Members are $30.00 for the season with proof of current OCA insurance. Due to OBC and OCA insurance rule changes, pay as you go rates are no longer available. See Becoming a member for OBC membership application forms |

Volunteers |
The series is run by volunteers and as such we are always looking for extra hands to help out. Devoted partners and friends are needed as time-keepers, bike holders and course marshals. All riders are encouraged to recruit new participants and volunteers, or by helping out themselves. |
