The OBC's largest and best-known event is the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour (RLCT), normally held the second weekend in June. Passing through picturesque countryside between Ottawa and Kingston, Ontario, the RLCT attracts over 2000 cyclists from all over North America.
Vermont weekend (Aug 4 to 7) 2017 - registration closed
The Vermont Weekend has been a very popular tour, with as many as 150 members spending the long August civic holiday weekend exploring the roads of the state from a base in one its small colleges. In recent years we've been staying in more upscale accommodation and there are more competing tours on the OBCs calendar, so the participation has dropped, but there is still nowhere else within a day's drive where the cycling is as good..
September 16 - 17, 2017 - Registration closed
The SECT-Mont Tremblant Tour is back for another year. The feedback from last year's tour indicated:
July 23 - 30, 2017 Registration Closed
- 6 riding days, 7 nights in cabins along the route.
- Riding distances range from 58 km - 93 km
- Mix of dedicated bike path, marked bike lanes and quiet country roads;
- Self-supported (riders each assigned a driving day)
This is the fourth year that we will be returning to the Auberge Harris in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu for our Friday, Saturday, & Sunday weekend tour – July 28-30, 2017 – This year a bit later than last year due to conflicting dates with other tours – OBC and non-OBC. Once again, we will be hosted at the Auberge by Mme Boucher-Boutin who will provide us with facilities for early arrival on Friday and late departure on Sunday for those who want to get in extra rides at the start or finish of our tour.
Friday June 23 - Sunday June 25, 2017
We will be staying at Inn at the Finger Lakes in Auburn, NY which is about a 4 hour drive from Ottawa.
The cycling routes offer beautiful views of the nearby lakes. While many roads are quiet, they also tend to be hilly, similar to riding in Gatineau park. The nearby town of Skaneateless is a great place to enjoy coffee, bakery goods or ice cream by the lake.
