Gananoque/Thousand Islands
Friday June 3rd to Sunday June-5th,2011
The OBC is offering a new tour this year! The inaugural tour will be held the weekend of June 3 - 5 based in a lovely inn overlooking the Thousand Islands in Gananoque.
Who is this tour aimed at? Well, it's aimed at newer club members and those that haven't tried the overnight tours offered by the club. It could suit couples where one rides and the other less so or not at all. Nearby non-cycling activities include kayaking, boat-tours, golf, etc. The Gananoque Playhouse will be running shows in June.
The cycle routes offered will be mountain-free, marathon-free and less trafficked. Oh, and Gananoque is not too far from Ottawa, without border crossings! The inn is a premiere, comfortable one, memorable for the right reasons. It is located within stumbling distance of all the nice things that Gananoque has to offer - such as an excellent bakery, pub and ice cream shop.
Experienced tour leader Paul Young will be leading this new tour in a relaxed, friendly style. Included will be two nights accommodation, two breakfasts, tour routes, tour companions and lots of fun. The cycling in the Thousand Islands area is nice and varied but not too hilly. The weather should be pleasant by June. So check it out.
The total cost per person is $195.00 based on double occupancy and includes 2 nights accommodation and 2 breakfasts but no dinners at The Gananoque Inn & Spa.
Registration deadline is Wednesday May 18
