Board Meetings
Monthly meetings of the Board of Directors are usually held on the first (non-holiday) Monday of each month. The purpose of these meetings is to conduct new business of the Club. The Board of Directors is the de facto ruling instance of the Club, with powers set out in the Ottawa Bicycle Club constitution .
Representatives on the board, called "directors," are mandated by club members to conduct business on their behalf through elections held at meetings of members. To support the activities of the Board and those activities which relate to specific portfolios such as socials, Rideau Lakes, and touring, many directors have established committees of members to help plan and organize these activities.
All members are welcome to attend board meetings and find out more about how the club is run. Members can also take part in specific portfolios or committees by approaching a director.
Meetings are normally held at Ottawa City Hall, 110 Lisgar Street from June to September and in the Basment room at 170 Booth Street from October to May. Contact the Club office for exact location.
The Annual General Meeting is held in the fall.
